In addition to the taking in the amazing scenery, the Upper Colorado is home to many types of plant, marine and animal life that you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of on your rafting trip. There are over 1,600 species of plants, just in the Colorado River! The river also boasts many types of fish, a couple of which are on the endangered species list. These include species such as the humpback chub, bonytail, Colorado pike minnow and razorback sucker. You may also see fisherman angling for salmon and trout along the river banks, as the Upper Colorado is a very popular place to fish.

If you are really lucky you may even see some bighorn sheep, a moose passing by.
